Puerto Rico - Part 2 - Escambrón, Capitolio, Castillo San Cristóbal

On Monday morning we decided to just walk into town to avoid dealing with parking. It was about 3 miles from our Airbnb to El Morro, but there were a few things to see along the way.

Our first stop was Fortín del Escambrón, basically just some walls left of a fort. Not a lot to see, but it had nice views.

We continued west until we found a series of parks with monuments and statues commemorating various things.

These were all near the capitol building, which is also home to the Walkway of the Presidents - statues of presidents who visited Puerto Rico.

Our next stop was Castillo San Cristóbal.

We bought a season pass to get in and had fun exploring the chaotic layout.

They had some interesting exhibits about the history and we even got to walk through the tunnels.
