Spring Festival

On Saturday we went to the neighborhood Spring Festival. We've done this many times before, so the kids were ready.

We got there right as the line for balloon animals opened, so we got those first.

This is the first year we haven't had a child in the lower age group, so we visited the games while the toddlers got their eggs. The most popular booth was the silly string and confetti egg booth.

When it was egg time, the kids knew what to do.

Miles and Damon competed in the middle age group and Carmen and Olivia in the older age group.

Afterwards we went back to the games. There was a new ride this year, which the kids said was a lot of fun. They like that they could spin the cars themselves.

Multi-player

While Amber was gone at girls camp I got two more controllers for my PS4. We have a few multi-player games and the kids would argue over who got to play. They were thrilled when I brought home the controllers. It worked great, except there are four controllers and four kids, so now I'm the one who doesn't get to play!

My favorite multi-player game is Rocket League, which Carmen will play with me, but the other kids don't like because it's too hard for them. When they play together, they usually play Beach Buggy Racing, a low-budget Mario Kart-style game.

They're cute playing together. Carmen and Olivia will slow down to let Miles and Damon win, so everyone has fun.

Dinner outside

The weather is starting to get warmer, and we've been enjoying it on the patio. I finally got around to hanging up the hammock chair I bought long ago in preparation for our patio.

Then we decided on some patio furniture -- a glass table with stackable chairs. We celebrated by eating dinner outside.

Before it gets too hot, we've been eating outside as much as we can, including while Amber was away at girls camp.

And if you're eating dinner outside, you might as well have a dessert perfect for outside, ice cream cones!
