Miles's birthday

Miles saw Carmen's party and decided he wanted one too, so Amber wrote the story and devised puzzles for a Greek-gods-themed "mythtery" party, complete with balloon arch.

The kids had a great time solving all the puzzles to figure out who stole Zeus's lightning bolt.

They found out that it was Ares as they ate Greek food.

The next day, on his actual birthday (#doubledigits), he opened up the rest of his presents, getting lots of fun things, like books, squishmallows, hammock, pocket knife, alarm clock, gaming keyboard, football, and of course, a Lego set.

And his birthday wouldn't be complete without his name spelled out in strawberries on his strawberry cake.

ESE Color Run

Eagle Springs Elementary had a "Color Run" fundraiser this year, so we all signed up, and it was a lot of fun.

It was a loop around the school that had stations where teachers would spray us with colored powder. We did the loop a couple times and got thoroughly colored.

Apparently it's possible to set the colors into the shirt using vinegar. I tried it, but not enough powder stayed, so ended up tie-dying my shirt like everyone else.

Easter

We had a pretty typical Easter this year. Church was in the morning, and I led the Primary in singing "Jesus is Risen", complete with hand motions. They skipped second hour, also, to give us more family time, which is new.

That didn't give the Easter Bunny a lot of time to hide baskets, but the kids were wise enough to stay upstairs until the discovery of plastic grass leading to the back door.

They're experts by now, so it didn't take them long to find all their baskets.

Later in the day we dyed Easter eggs, had an egg hunt, and listened to The Lamb of God.
