Pickle Festival

When we found out there was a Pickle Festival this weekend in Kingwood, we decided that was something we had to check out. There were a bunch of vendors set up in a park and we had fun strolling around, tasting pickles, and browsing the pickle-related merchandise. We even cooled off with some pickle pops.

They had lots of interesting pickles, and I ended up buying some taco pickles, garlic pickles, pickle salsa, and spicy pickle jam (relish).

Lego Labor Day

We didn't really have a plan for Labor Day, so I resurrected an idea we'd done several years ago and we had Lego Labor Day. The idea is that instead of spending a bunch of money to go somewhere, we buy Lego sets instead and have something to keep at the end. Of course, I had to get some, too. What are kids for if not a good excuse to buy cool toys?

It was a success, and everyone was pleased with their sets.
