This was Damon's year for his Happiness Tour with his Roper Grandparents. Because of some considerations with cousins, they did it in Colorado, so we had to find a way to get Damon out there. We didn't feel comfortable having him fly alone, so I flew to Salt Lake City with him.
His grandparents, who had driven from California with Cambria, picked Isabel and Damon, we all went to eat at Cafe Rio, then they drove to Colorado to meet up with Adam. While Damon was having fun, I worked remotely from Marisa's house. I worked during the day, then we'd do things in the evening like play Boggle, go out to eat, watch movies in her basement theater, play Beat Saber on the Oculus VR, and visit Bridal Veil Falls.
I met her boyfriend and we chatted a lot about her current relationship (which my presence ruined, just like her marriage that ended right after the
last time I visited), and her Australian housemate's relationship, who was staying for the summer to be near her online boyfriend. I also got to see my friend
Ally again, and see Brook's new house.
Meanwhile, Damon was living it up in Colorado, stopping by Garden of the Gods and Great Wolf Lodge.
Then they went to a YMCA camp that had a ton of activities, like rock climbing, archery, slides, and zip lines.
He came back happy and seemed to have a great time. We had some time before we had to catch our flight, so I took him to see Bridal Veil Falls too.
