Olivia's driver's license

Olivia is officially a licensed driver. The tester said she was probably a little too slow and cautious (understandable after her previous experience), but she passed! Amber took her to get a celebratory donut afterwards.

Thanksgiving

It was the Lefler's turn to host Thanksgiving, so we drove to San Antonio on Wednesday afternoon. We had fun hanging out with the Leflers.

On Thursday I went on a run in the morning, but other than that everyone was playing, preparing food, and relaxing until it was time to eat.

The kids were all ready to dig in, it was a delicious meal (with two pans of sweet potato casserole, of course)!

We slept off the big dinner, then drove home on Friday, when it was officially time to start decorating for Christmas.

Carmen helped me with some of the lights, and while I had the ladder out, Damon helped clean out the gutters.

Miles's Thanksgiving Feast

This is Miles's last year at ESE, so we've started our tour of "last" things we'll do here. Today was the last Thanksgiving Feast, and since I was working from home I was able to come this time. Amber decided to go all out and made it a real feast, with placemats, fancy plates, candles, and champagne flutes.

We had turkey, potatoes, salad, and pomegranates, and I think Miles enjoyed all the attention his fancy meal got.

Halloween

After our Zombie Fun Run on Saturday, we got dressed up for our Trunk-or-Treat at the church. Amber and I used our costumes from last year's murder mystery, Olivia had extra eyes, Carmen was a witch, Damon couldn't decide on a costume so he used his inflatable T-rex, and Miles was Sherlock Holmes.

The next day we carved pumpkins.

For Halloween on Tuesday, Amber convinced Olivia to host a Halloween party. Olivia had a bunch of friends over for Halloween-themed food (mummy hot dogs, brain jello, graveyard enchilada dip, etc.) and a movie.

Carmen invited over a couple of friends also and they went trick-or-treating together, Kahlan came over with a friend and went with Damon (who reprised his role as mailbox), Miles went over to his friend's house, and Olivia's group eventually went out together too.
