Spring

As I write this, Spring is acting suspiciously like Summer, but we've tried to enjoy our nice season here as much as we can.

One nearly daily ritual is the family trek to the mailbox at the end of the street.  It's only 3 houses down, but once we get started it's hard to get the kids back inside, so we often make a few laps before going home.

And of course, we have to stop and inspect everything of interest, such as weeds growing in the sidewalk.

After living here for a while, Amber decided she didn't like the plants that were in the landscaping so we've spent some time ripping those out and remulching.

Carmen is quite content to help by eating any dirt she can get her hands on.

We ripped out a bunch of the plants because they are just too aggressive and grow to monstrous size unless constantly attended.  Here's one that grew through a rock.  Now that's tough.

We also spent a recent Sunday afternoon sitting in the shade on our front lawn enjoying the perfect weather.  I would have fallen asleep except for this cute little ball of energy.

Our backyard is also a favorite place, with lots of swinging and bubbles.

And finally, this doesn't really fit in with my carefully constructed spring narrative, but here's a great picture of Carmen.

Don't you have a shirt with the same pattern as that couch?
